Spring Break to Mississippi and California

Kaisson is quite the traveler!!!  In a week and 1/2 he visited Mississippi and California.  The first part of Spring Break we drove to Mississippi to visit my grandparents.  My grandparents loved getting to see him and love on him.  They couldn't believe all that he was able to do.  My Granddaddy was amazed at how inquisitive he was with toys and the environment.

After heading back from Mississippi and working 2 days, we flew out to California to visit my friend Melodee, her baby girl Josie, and her husband Jeff.  My parents for Christmas purchased me a ticket to visit this special friend...so, we were so excited!!!!  We spent a day flying there and a day flying back....Kaisson did great and everyone bragged on what a great traveling baby he was. We had a blast hanging out with Melodee...the only drawback was that it wasn't long enough.  Josie enjoyed getting to play with Kaisson.  Kaisson wasn't too sure about Josie though.  I enjoyed getting to visit with my sweet friend and it made me long for her to live closer!

My Baby is Growing Up!

Kaisson is getting so big and so animated!  He is 4 1/2 months old now.   He loves talking, laughing, rolling over, playing toys on his belly, and pulling up.  He can even sit up for a few seconds before he rolls over!  He is an easy boy and loves to play by himself or with Mom, Dad, Nina, Pop, or Gannon.  Gannon is watching him on Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays while I work on Masters classes and go to work.  He has been such a blessing and seems to really enjoy being around Kaisson.  Kaisson also enjoys the time together...sounds like they get some good naps together!  =)

Kaisson is eating much better these days.  After doing an ultrasound and barium swallow test, we were sent to the gastroenterologist who said that Kaisson had a milk/soy allergy.  Sure enough, that was the problem!  He still is dealing with reflux, but the vomiting has decreased and that's a blessing.  Tonight we started him on rice cereal.  He finally figured out how to open his mouth but had trouble keeping it in.  I think he had more on his face and clothes than in his mouth!  The gastroenterologist said that if he does good with rice cereal in the next week or so, then we can start him on baby food.  Wow, my baby is getting so big!!!  He still isn't gaining weight very well though.  He's only in the 25%....so we've up'd the formula to water ratio according to dr's orders to try to up his calorie intact.  Little guy can't keep up with his cousin Livi who is now 17 lbs!!!

Kaisson's First Christmas

Before heading to Seattle we had Christmas with my family.  It was a good time of food, fun, and family.  We got our Christmas pictures taken.  Kaisson was quite the photogenic baby (not that I had any doubt!)

The first Christmas was a white Christmas.  Unfortunately, with Kaisson having the sniffles, he didn't get out in it.  Mom and Dad did however...we made a snowman (my first!).

We had a wonderful time visiting Nana and Papa in Seattle!  Kaisson also got to meet his Uncle Ben, Aunt Jen, and his first 1st cousin Olivia!  It was fun seeing the two of them together!  We laughed a lot at seeing them together and we can't wait till they're older and can actually do more than just stare at each other!  We hope that we'll be able to make the trip back up there this summer..by then the two of them should be crawling around.
